Finley loves books and I spied the cutest photo of her reading at a bookstore on Shari's personal blog.
I took the photo of Finley and printed it out to 8x10 size. Then I cut her silhouette out and used it as a template for the one I cut out of the paper. I used a complimentary cardstock for the background. On the mat I added her name and a quote from Dr. Seuss: The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.
Happy Birthday Finley!

Hi there, I'm Ashley (and this is "Boo"). Lil Blue Boo is where my love of painting, power tools, sewing and motherhood all intersect.....patterns, tutorials, photos, t-shirts, tantrums, etsy, beads, rocks, buttons, fabric, leaves, thread, ribbon, paint, dye, paper, tape, wood.........if only there were more hours in the day! Feel free to link to any of my posts! PLEASE do not use any images or content about my daughter without FIRST contacting me (I'm sure you understand!) I work really hard to come up with original projects and if I am inspired by someone else's idea I do my best to attribute ALL credit! I just ask that you do the same for me! How impossibly simple and cute is this?!
Brings me to yet another forehead slapping moment as I think, "Why didn't I think of that?"
She's going to love this. An absolute treasure!
oh, so sweet!
Hi Ashley!
Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for your sweet comment!
This is an adorable idea... I love silhouettes. I have two of my children when they were toddlers, and I cherish them.
Your blog is so fun!! Can I come back often Please and thankyou??!!
Blessings,
Sasha
We LOVE it! Everything about it, from the quote, to the picture, to the colors, to the thought behind it. Thank you! This morning I read the book "I can read with my eyes shut" to Finley, which is where the quote is from, and she recognized it as also being in her new piece of art!
You should know that I hung it in Finley's room this morning, and moved some things around, and now I have an itch to redo her room! Look what you started ;-)
