When Mr. Lil Blue Boo and I first got married we had a tradition of putting out a huge spread on the coffee table for our Friday night dinner. We would watch a rented movie and snack. Our typical spread was fresh cut fruits and veggies, dips, chips and salsa, cheese and crackers, crusty rosemary bread and sushi. With a toddler running around it didn't work that well for a while but I've started to slowly re-introduce it with mini versions:

Have a great Friday night!
I talk my husband into as much sushi as possible on Fridays during Lent!
ReplyDeleteM-m-m what an abundance of flavors and yumminess in just one plate!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of white dinnerware and healthy food bursting with vitality.
yum, can I come over?
ReplyDeleteWe used to do the same thing and now that the kiddos are a little bit older we are slowing starting the tradition again - and it is their favorite! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteChelsea
ha, we have Friday night popcorn as the main course. Tonight they chose Ramen noodles and mandarin oranges with pumpkin seeds as a dessert. Really???? yep. Really.
ReplyDeleteI've never had sushi, I almost ordered it yesterday but chickened out because I don't know how to say any of it.
I've been eating sushi nonstop on Fridays too (for lent.) I'm a tad sushi'd out though!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today and have to say you are an amazingly talented and creative person! I think if I had one ounce of your creativity the things I could do. It's so funny you were a math major and have so much creativity. I teach middle school math and am so not artistic.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute and fun tradition!
ReplyDeleteI might have to steal it! ; )
De-lurking to have some veggies and dip... Finger food is my best meal. And, to me, this looks like a feast! YUM! It has a little bit of everything!
ReplyDeleteYUM!!!!!!
That looks so good. Love sushi.
ReplyDeleteAll of what I`ve seen on this picture my favorite foods ! Great Friday night!
ReplyDeleteThis is our FAVORITE dinner at our house (I have a 8,5,& 2 yr old) and we call it snack dinner. LOL. I usually do goat cheese, honey crisp apples, pepper crackers, smoked salmon, green pepper slices, hummus, grapes and always a small square of Lindt dark chocolate!

ReplyDeleteHah this was a pre-kid tradition in our house as well, we called it "wine & cheese snacks", an its been reentering our rotation lately too. T loves it, but always swipes all the cheese!
ReplyDeleteYUM...that is a great tradition.
ReplyDeletelooks like the perfect meal to me :) we do that on nights that we are tired and hungry...but not "real" hungry...we call it snack night.
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Mike and I do this too. The kids love it we spread out a large blanket on the living room floor and have a picnic inside. And we just did it last night too. One of our favorite things is to pick up these delicious steamed buns from this local Chinese market and I'll make pot stickers and Edamame and we have quite a tasty dinner.
ReplyDeleteP/S I think think I might "have" to pick up Sushi for lunch now LOL :).
