They are a little tattered but of course I love them even more because of their age. I printed them out on iron-on transfer paper for a few projects....here is the queen of hearts made into a patch applique for a little knit dress.
You can find my tutorial on making the patches here.
Feel free to use the graphics if you like...just save them to your computer. I think the "pinup" gals would look cute on a t-shirt or even on a little coin purse.
AMAZING find! I love it!
ReplyDeletethis so precious. I bet it brought up many memories. Great idea on doing a print out of them on iron ons!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to remember your grandma - and such a good find!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find, and fun way to remember your grandparents!
ReplyDeleteHow fun, I just saw some postcards that my husband's grandpa had saved, what a great piece of history.
ReplyDeleteI have a question. Any reason you make a patch with the image instead of ironing the image directly on the t-shirt? I know with this example the t-shirt is colored, but with your other t-shirts, I noticed that they were white but you still made a patch and stiched them onto the t-shirt. Just curious, I am getting ready to make some of them and wondered if you had a bad experience ironing them directly onto the shirt?
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh..........I WANT ONE OF THOSE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteamydoliver: I just like the look of an appliqued patch....and sometimes I'm worried I'll mess up the shirt with my iron on....and the patch is less risky ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. How does the image hold up in the wash?
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it when you find extra treasures!
ReplyDeleteAs usual how cute:)
