My second project involved filling a space in our master bedroom above our bed that desperately needed some artwork. The space is so long and narrow that I couldn't find any artwork that didn't look like I crammed it in. For this project I bought a bunch of frames at Michael's (yes, being frugal mcdougal I bought the ones that were all 40% off one week) that I could space out to draw your eye along the wall. I had an old vintage poster of New York that I bought a few years back that I cut up into 4 by 6 inch pieces for each frame.
I love the way it turned out and the entire project ended up costing me only $45. My laser level came in very handy when hanging them all. I used earthquake putty (museum putty for those of you who don't live in California) to keep the pictures straight.
Ooo, love the maps, Frugal McDougal!
ReplyDeleteA person would be a fool to buy a frame at full price at Michael's! If they aren't on sale this week, they will be next week. :)
That is a great idea with your grandmother's jewelry. I have a shadow box sitting in my closet that I should do something similar...since you and I seem to be the same person in parallel universes--ha! :)
