One Obese Frog
Sometimes projects just don't turn out like I planned for them to. The frog to the left (the dark green fuzzy one) was a toy I had as a little girl. I was trying to make a version for my nephew. It didn't turn out so well. Whatever "beads" they used to stuff the original frog must be much lighter than pinto beans.....because my frog weighs about 25 pounds......I'm exaggerating a little, but still, this frog is not suitable for a baby. My husband says we should keep it as a doorstop. ....

I love comments....they help me figure out what you enjoy reading! I read and appreciate every single one but I receive so much email that it is impossible for me to reply to everyone! Please email me directly if you have a specific question and please leave your email if it isn't published on your profile.... otherwise I don't have the means to contact you!
I think he is cute! :) Although, 25lbs would be a bit heavy!
ReplyDeleteLOL that is funny!! I love frogs though!
ReplyDeleteEven if you do use it as a doorstop it's still adorable. You could make another one and just fill it with stuffing.
ReplyDeleteHe is priceless!
ReplyDeleteMy guess would be they used Polystyrene or plastic pellets which is the same thing they use to stuff bean bag chairs with. They still feel like beans, but they are ultra light weight. You can usually find them at most large chain craft shops and I know online too.
ReplyDelete"Love me as I am or do not love me at all" He's perfect, even at 25 lbs!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! Sorry your toy didn't come out - maybe Sienna can use it as her doorstop?! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour old frog is so cute! LOVE the funky daisy flower print and red felt tongue! He's got so much character!
It would be the cutest doorstep ever! Love it :)
ReplyDelete25 lb...lol! Maybe try those little plastic pellets instead?
ReplyDeleteI think he's super cute!!
ReplyDeleteIt must be "Frog Fail" week, because I made one a couple days ago that seriously would give children nightmares.
Oh I think he is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteWe had the same FROG!!! I love it. And yes, we still have ours too. Bout 30 years old now...in the playroom at my parents house. I think I might make me one...although, with a little less heavy! So cute.
ReplyDeleteI had the same frog and my grandma (in her 80s) just made two more, one for each of my girls. She stuffed them with polyfil beads and they're a bit heavy but very floppy. She also found those eyeballs and used them on the girls' frogs. She made a pink one for the mini-saurus and a purple one for the frog princess.
