"Mom, do you think I could have something "store" bought.....

....manufactured, or maybe even mass-produced?" That is exactly how I picture the conversation starting one day. I make most of my daughter's clothes and I am positive that one day the novelty will wear off for her.

Two things I do NOT make: shoes and underwear, so that part of her wardrobe becomes very neglected. But in all seriousness, does a two-year-old really need more than one pair of shoes (and maybe a pair of pink "super hero" boots)? Besides, I happen to think skater shoes look cute with a church dress....

Thank goodness for Grandmothers. Thank you "Mimi" for Sienna's new shoes! I no longer will be embarrassed when her school thinks she came in barefooted because none of the shoes on hand fit.....

Changing the subject: I am a little horrified that Sienna "captured" Tinkerbell in her juice cup and then filled it halfway with water. Tink even looks like she is yelling "heeeeelllllppp".......

  1. My preschooler (way back when) only wore cowboy boots with her church dresses! (and no, I'm not from Texas)

  2. She is trying to preserve the memories and wonder of childhood by putting Tinkerbell in there!

  3. The grass is always greener, right? Her classmates would probably love handmade clothes!

I only buy a pair of gym shoes, dress shoes and Crocs in each size for my boys. It's silly to have more when they grow so fast, and anyway, they're going to want to wear their favorite pair over and over again. Ahem, Lightning McQueen Crocs...

  5. I love those pink superhero boots! I wanna a pair for Serenity!!

I have a serious problem when it comes to buying shoes for Serenity - she has around a dozen pairs of shoes! MOST of them I got second-hand - so that's not too bad is it? Anyways, she's been in a size 6 for almost a year and I'm gonna cry when finally she outgrows all her cute little shoes!

But, on the plus side, I get to go Ebay shoes for some more! Haha!

  6. My 4 year old is a shoe fanatic. She is also a BIG Lelli Kelly fan (she has 4 pairs!). She calls them her "sparkly shoes". My husband thinks I go a little overboard but I think of it as an investment. She takes care of her shoes and they will be handed down to her little sister!

  7. I think the skater shoes look cute with dresses too. Grandma is the one who has provided my shoe loving daughter with more than the standard 2 pairs of shoes.

What, you don't make underwear? Why not?!? Just kidding. ; )

  8. LOVE all the shoes! My 3 year old has a shoe fetish but my 7 year old could care less about them.

I dont think you have to worry about S not wanting to wear mama made stuff too soon. My 7 year old always wants me to make her stuff and so do her friends :)

  11. I always wore my plastic dress up Princess "heels." EVERYWHERE! They were way too big for my feet, but I would clunk around. I rocked them with ridiculous tights and socks too, my poor mother!

  13. Grandma supplies my girls with a good portion of their shoe collection, as well (and it is a rather large collection!)...she is a shoe lover, I'm a shoe lover, both my girls seem to be shoe lovers! It appears it might be genetic...
