Big Blue Boo

I'm close to 6 feet tall (5'11" and 3/4" to be exact)....so I think this outfit qualifies as "Big" Blue Boo. I made this asymmetric tunic to wear over my grungy jean cutoffs that I live in everyday. (I need a tripod obviously so that I can take photos without using my master bath mirror!) I LOVE it and was tempted to wear it 2 days in a row....have I mentioned that my closet has been empty lately? This was an emergency outfit.

Upcycled from a variety of t-shirts and some stretchy yardage....it has a cute and funky pieced look! I'm working on a maxi dress length too. I think I'll leave the bottoms unfinished when listing them in my store so that they can be customized for length. The tricky part is finding the right t-shirt combinations that don't end up looking like Lil Blue Boo kiddo dresses!

  3. So. freaking. awesome!! It doesn't look kid-ish at all, but I can see how that would be tricky to do. I love the tie-dye you've incorporated. I would totally buy one if you made some with short sleeves! :)

  5. Your top looks fabulous - not too young looking but just right. I too am tall and finding longer shirts is very difficult. You did a great job with this.

  12. please please please offer a pattern! I am a "lurker" to your site but have been stirred to comment because of this dress! I don't have any kids, so while I love your normal stuff/patterns I don't have any use for them. But this, this i would wear daily... And made out of some of my old shirts, fun!

  15. Even a woman's size lil blue boo would look darling. I had some ideas for plus size women like me but my sewing sucks. So super cute on darling skinny chicks.
