There IS beauty in housework....

....like little footprints on my freshly mopped floor.

Now don't get all jealous on me....

......but I want to introduce you to an amazing specimen of a vacuum cleaner (and sorry to disappoint but this is NOT the next LBB giveaway).

I am sentimental about some strange things....including this old Electrolux that used to be my parents. My husband has tried to buy me a new one countless times.....I refuse.

It is sounding a little "sick" .....time to scout out a local vacuum doc.

P.S. Have you tried the new Scotch-Brite Stainless Steel Cleaner at Costco? Love it. And I'm picky and I've tried everything.....

  1. I used to have an Electrolux just like that. Loved it. I did let my husband talk me into a new cheapy Walmart upright and I hate it. I miss the Eletrolux. What I really want is a Dyson. But they are way out of my price range right now.

  2. I love that first photo! Worth the mopping, I suppose.

My mom had that same vacuum, and it lasted at least 15 years. She of course bought another Electrolux, and if I could afford it, I'd buy one too.

  3. I love that photo, it is so adorable. Hubby was just refixing our old and faithful Hoover. I keep wanting to upgrade to something like a Dyson. I wonder if I can sneak it in.

  5. OH, MY...I love that running photo. It is just precious! Thanks for the stainless cleaner tip too...I am going to have to try it (I haven't yet found anything that works...love costco!)

  6. My Mother had a very similar Electrolux vacuum - hers had rails (like ski rails) instead of wheels. She vacuumed up the ashes from the fireplace one day and it burst into flames. I guess there was still a hot cinder at the bottom of ash pile. She grabbed it and threw it outside into the snow. We still laugh about that poor old flaming vacuum flying into the yard.
