A feature and did you know "impatience" is NOT a virtue?

Well, Kim thinks I am a "show off." Okay, so I am totally honored and flattered today to be the featured blog today on Today's Creative Blog.....

.....but really, a "show off"? LOL. I loved the post. Thank you Kim! I'm a total fan of McGyver so I loved the reference. And yes, I am a giver. I figure when I make stuff I might as well share how I did it so there is a record somewhere in the whole huge universe that I DO exist. Is that deep enough for you this morning? But seriously, I've been blessed with health, food and shelter, and a supportive family so there is no reason for me hoard creative ideas. And here is the reason you've all been waiting for: I just like to make stuff.

And Kim, just let me "show off" a little of what I messed up today.....just to make me a little more "like-able" ;)

Remember those pretty tie-dyed shirts? I was too impatient. I washed them too early....even with my husband warning me not too. AND I accidentally left the wash setting on EXTRA HOT. Now I have some lovely pinkish-purple tees......

Then I blew up my printer. Ink pooled all over the floor. Here is my hand after 400 washings....it might be permanently inked....

And here is a preview of my new fall pattern....with the "short sleeved" version. Looks cute....but the neck turned out WAY too small on this sample and I almost ripped off Sienna's pigtails getting it on. She was a trooper though. Does the ruffle look familiar?

But I'm a survivor ;) The shirts can be salvaged into something. I'll print in grayscale until we can afford a new printer. Sienna still has her "piggies." And I was featured at Today's Creative Blog. Holla!

  7. Rit makes a dye remover that should work to get the shirts white again. Rit is known for being a poor dye because it bleeds horribly and just never sets right. Try using Dylon (in the craft section) instead. It works so much better and the colors stay nice and bright wash after wash. I have used both and Dylon is the hands down clear cut winner.
