Green Robot



I used my new little robot to make a set of pajamas for my nephew who turns 3 this weekend. The robot is a freezer paper stencil onto a white t-shirt and I made the pajama pants from some green robot print fabric.


I printed the robot directly onto freezer paper, cut out the image and used fabric paint (Jacquard is of course my favorite) to fill in the image. (Read this tutorial for more info on freezer paper stenciling, and fabric paint.) The greens don't match exactly....but I didn't have the right blue paint to mix with the yellow!


I'm definitely going to use him again soon! Here is my template if you want to make your own:

    Oh, thanks so much! I have some robot print fabric that I was going to make into a bib for my new baby great-nephew, and was thinking of appliqueing a robot on it. Now maybe I'll stencil one instead!

    Too Cute!!! For some reason I can not see the stencil(to print it)? I have been wanting to try this, how did you get the paint on there? I know that you made your own stencil, but was the inside(his body) of the stencil cut out? I just don't understand:} If you could please help me to understand, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks for this template! My stepson is on a "robotics" team, and even though their robot looks nothing like that, how cute would it be for my 3 year old to wear a shirt/dress with a robot on it to a competition!

    I would love to have this Robot Template, but honestly this new Scribd policy is really frustrating. First it was the fact that everything I downloaded immediately was logged onto my Facebook and Twitter pages . . . well, okay that's great advertising for the person who created the download - but somehow I don't believe that is their intent. I really believe it is more to advertise Scribd. Also, I'm a little more private and I'd really not like everything I do posted automatically. I'd like to choose what gets posted - know what I mean? But I go along with it, because sometimes you just have to make compromises and I do realize the hard work you and others put into all their tutorials and downloads they put out for all of us.

    But honestly, now I have to upload something to Scribd to be able to download for free? If I had something to upload, first off I wouldn't use Scribed because I oppose these policies, and second, truly I am just not that crafty. I wish I was. I wish I could think up great one-of-a-kind crafts and projects and post wonderful tutorials on my blog and have hundreds of followers stop by each day just to see what wonderful thing I have done that day . . .

    Am I ranting? Maybe a little. I'm sorry. I don't do this. EVER. It's just that Scribd has me SO frustrated this morning.

    Thank you so much for all your great tutorials. I really do love them. Without them, my grandchildren would not have so many wonderful things, which make me look like the best Grandma in the whole world in their eyes! And for that, I'll still keep coming here to see what wonderful creation you have thought up for me to try. But I won't be downloading anymore. I'll have to figure out another way.

    And if you've actually gotten to the bottom of this awful post, thanks so much for reading it. You may delete it if you'd like. :-)

    Scribd is the only way I know to keep track of the downloads. You could just upload a blank document maybe?
